In June, we helped to balance 15 tonnes of carbon with the Ceará Renewable Energy Project in Brazil via Net Zero Eyecare!
With illegal logging acting as a major contributor to both biodiversity loss and carbon emissions, it was vital to tackle the route cause in the Caatinga region of Brazil; the need for fuel.
Elsewhere in Brazil, rivers provide access to clean, renewable hydro energy – but in the Caatinga rivers are sparce, so the project developers instead looked to sourcing local agricultural and industrial biomass waste to act as the primary fuel source for five large ceramics factories.
This cleans up industrial emissions whilst providing additional income for local businesses, and helps support numerous additional local environmental and community projects.
