Carbon report July 2026
In June, we helped to balance 15 tonnes of carbon with the Ceará Renewable Energy Project in Brazil via Net Zero Eyecare!
With illegal logging acting as a major contributor to both biodiversity loss and carbon emissions, it was vital to tackle the route cause in the Caatinga region of Brazil; the need for fuel.
Elsewhere in Brazil, rivers provide access to clean, renewable hydro energy – but in the Caatinga rivers are sparce, so the project developers instead looked to sourcing local agricultural and industrial biomass waste to act as the primary fuel source for five large ceramics factories.
This cleans up industrial emissions whilst providing additional income for local businesses, and helps support numerous additional local environmental and community projects.

In May, we helped to balance 15 tonnes of carbon with the Santander and Las Tapias Renewable Energy Project in Colombia via Net Zero Eyecare.
As well as transforming the impact of a traditional ceramic factory through the use of renewable biomass in place of coal, delivering clear energy and economic growth, this project maintains it’s own local tree nursery to support reforestation initiatives, donates construction materials to local schools, and even protects stray local dogs.
A simple effort, maximising positive impact

Tournament battles
The Under 10 girls took on their first big challenge of the year attending the Melksham Town FC Festival of Football.
Despite not securing any victories, the girls impressed with their determination to stand tall and keep going despite being up against far more experienced league teams.
They kept smiling throughout, showing true resilience and all agreed that the experience was invaluable. Their next fixture will be on the last Sunday of May.
A Proud Moment!
We did it! Winners of the Somerset Business Award for Environment and Sustainability.
After enjoying a very glamorous evening at the Bath & West Showground, we were amazed and ecstatic to be named as winners.
To be recognised for our efforts to minimise the environmental impact of our business is a very proud moment and it has spurred us all on to do even more.
Do come and have a look at our shiny trophy - Made in Somerset of course!
Big Night Ahead
We can't quite believe we have reached the finals of the Somerset Business Awards!
We've got very stiff competition and are honoured to be included alongside Channel Events and Mill on the Brue who both strive to put sustainability at the forefront of their business.
Whichever way it goes on the night it's wonderful to see businesses striving to be a force for good so ultimately the winner is the planet.
Now to panic about what to wear....!
Award Nomination
We are delighted to have been shortlisted for a prestigious Somerset Chamber of Commerce Business Award!
The Environmental and Sustainability Award recognises companies or individuals who can demonstrate a positive and long-term impact on the environment within their business. As regular visitors to the practice will know, sustainability runs through everything we do and so to be recognised for our efforts makes us incredibly proud.
Awards night is in March 2026 so we will keep you posted!
Message from a legend
The Under 10 Wildcats were in action at the weekend in a very well attended tournament.
Enough players were available to field 2 teams and despite some bad luck in finding the back of the net all of the girls played with determination throughout. Their ‘never give up’ attitude was a joy to see.
They were lucky enough to receive a personal video message from England legend Teddy Sheringham which generated enormous excitement… mainly among the starstruck parents!
September carbon report
In September, we helped to balance 40 tonnes of carbon with the 30 MW Wind Energy Project by Giriraj Enterprises in India via Net Zero Eyecare!
With around a third of greenhouse gas emissions still coming from the electricity generation sector, every step towards renewable energy is a win for climate. Within the rapidly expanding Indian energy grid, this is particularly poignant.
This project is delivering clean and affordable energy to the regional grid, while supporting decent for and economic growth in the local community.
