In February, we helped to offset 20 tonnes of carbon with the Murang’a Improved Cookstove Project in Kenya, via Net Zero Eyecare!
In the Aberdare highlands of Kenya, households struggle against scare wood fuel and high prices, while they’re reliant on burning woodfuel for heating and cooking. The simple improvement of efficiency of these wood-burning stoves is a huge step, helping to reduce woodfuel consumption, thereby reducing local deforestation and reducing CO2 emissions, while simultaneously reducing the time spent collecting fuel by over 40%, and reducing indoor air pollution by 17%.
A simple yet effective way to improve livelihoods, support people most in need, and fight the climate crisis.
